SOLO JOURNEY | PROJECT SHAKKEI ISLAND

Vol.03  The structure and the exterior

We are making some progress with the plan, but I haven’t decided how this place should be used, and ultimately I don’t think we need to. Because undoubtedly, the fantastic scenery will make it a place where you will have a pleasant time, whatever you do.

In addition to Mr. Konishi, the structural designer, I asked a landscaper, who I hope will design the garden, to visit the site. The construction company is also conducting a survey while dismantling parts of the building, and this information is being shared with Mr. Konishi. I discussed my ideas for the overall atmosphere with the landscaper, talking about the concept of "neighboring textures."

When I went to the café near the ferry terminal for lunch, I found Mr. Konishi, who had left the site earlier, drinking beer while waiting for the ferry. It seemed like he was having a good time.
