SOLO JOURNEY | PROJECT SHAKKEI ISLAND

Vol.02  The fish farm

The prefab structure turned out to be a blowfish farm in disuse. Apparently, it had only been an aquaculture farm for a short time, before being used as a fish tank to train dolphin calves for dolphin shows.

After some checking, we were then stunned to find out that the prefab structure actually stood on the same plot of land, which meant the site included a traditional Japanese house, an elementary school, and a dolphin training center. I became very interested in the prefab after hearing there used to be dolphins swimming there, and asked if I could see inside.

The prefab housed a large and deep circular pool. And so, how to handle this structure is now another issue for the project.
